Iraya Anti Acne Gel | Review

Hey Guys!!

Todays review is about the Iraya Anti Acne Gel. This gel is meant to soothe the skin and diminish any blackheads, pimples or acne you might have. I was really excited to try out this product! I literally went to the beauty center thrice before I finally got my hands on this.

Iraya Anti Acne Gel | Review

Iraya is a brand I’ve frequently wrote about on my blog. I love trying out their products because they’re 100% natural, vegan & chemical free. It’s not that I only use Natural products but I just feel more excited to try them because it’s a fairly new concept to me. I’ve already reviewed Iraya’s Kumkumadi Radiance Gel & their Almond Nutrifying SkinFood. I’m also testing out one of their face wash that I’m yet to review. So, let’s get on with the review!

Price:

Rs.295 for 25 g.

Availability:

Iraya is available on Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, Purplle & in certain Beauty centers.

About the brands:

Iraya is an ayurvedic brand. It’s 100% vegan and is cruelty-free!

My experience With Iraya Anti Acne Gel:

As the name suggests, Iraya Anti Acne Gel is a gel based treatment made specifically to fight acne. The gel has a thick consistency. The colour of the gel is light muddy yellow.

It smells of herbs and balm to me. The smell is really cool & minty. It fades away in a few minutes so there’s nothing unpleasant about it.

Iraya Anti Acne Gel comes packed in a transparent glass tub with silver screw top lid. Once you unscrew the cap, the tub is further covered with a silver foil which you have to discard. Due to the glass tub, it’s not very travel friendly (I’m very clumsy!). The tub has a label printed with all the details about the product.

If you apply the gel with a light hand, it won’t feel sticky. But if you apply a generous amount it definitely feels heavier. So, If you have a problem with the sticky feeling, you should wash it off in 20 minutes as mentioned in the directions for use. You can use this overnight as well if you suffer from severe acne or skin problems.

I’ve kept this on my skin for 20 minutes as well as overnight because I wanted to test it out in every way. You can use this on Blackheads, Pimples, Acne, etc. I don’t suffer from severe acne but I do get those occasional bumps on my face; Also some blackheads here and there. I applied generous amount of this gel on affected areas. In 20 minutes, I did not see a difference whatsoever! I was really disappointed. I was actually excited about this product because I felt this might be the solution I can turn to when I get an uninvited pimple on some important day. But, it didn’t work out. So I tried to make this work as an overnight treatment whenever I had a pimple or some texture on my skin. Over the night, really small bumps on my face diminished a lot but the big ugly pimples didn’t budge. It took me three consistent nights of applying generous amount of this gel to make my pimple half its size.

Youtuber Debasree Banerjee had literally raved about the Iraya Anti Acne Gel in one of her skincare videos so I had high expectations from this. But it just didn’t work out for me. Maybe it’s meant for oily-skinned people (I have combination skin). I don’t know why but it doesn’t do anything miraculous for my skin.

Things I like About The Iraya Anti Acne Gel:

It’s a natural, vegan product.

Affordable

It’s easily available.

Things I don’t like About The Iraya Anti Acne Gel:

It doesn’t deliver on all the claims made by the brand.

Companies need to include a spatula with jar packaging to make it more hygienic.

Packaging is not very travel-friendly.

Rating: 2.5/5

I would not repurchase this.

  1. Hmm I’m always excited to try vegan and cruelty free products but it’s a shame when a product doesn’t deliver on its promise. Thanks for your honest review

  2. I was excited to hear about this brand since I don’t like to put anything on my skin that has chemicals in it. I’m sad that it didn’t meet up with your expectations, so now I’m not sure I’d try it! Thanks for sharing such an honest review.

  3. I’m pretty new to the blogging world and discovered your post via Boost Your Blog. I have some acne issues especially ever since quitting birth control. I also love natural and vegan products, whether it be beauty, cleaning, etc. So I wanted to check out your product review! Sad it doesn’t work as well as you had hoped. Perhaps you need to use it longer to notice a difference? Thanks for the advice!

    1. I’m sad as well that it didn’t work for me. And I’ve been using this for a month now and it doesn’t give me fast results. But over time it does help so do give this a try as everybody’s skin is different 🙂

  4. I rarely get blemishes, thank God and knock on wood. But I’m Anwar’s wanting to try vegan and cruelty free products!! I’ll have to see if I can find something like this to try!
