Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara | Review & Swatches

When I think of Mascara, one name that instantly pops into my mind is Maybelline! It is the best drugstore brand for Mascaras. It is actually my favourite drugstore brand for almost all the makeup products. But for mascaras, nobody does it like Maybelline! They have so many options to choose from and every mascara comes in a washable and waterproof formula.

This review is about the Maybelline the Falsies Push-up Drama Mascara – Waterproof. I’ve had this mascara for the last 2 months. And I’ve been absolutely loving it.

There was a time when I couldn’t walk out of my house without putting on my Kohl. Though, I still put liner’s & kohl’s all the time but, since I’ve started using this mascara I just put this on, apply some inner corner highlight, fill in my brows, put on some lipstick and I’m good to go! I’m actually loving the no liner and lots of mascara look now-a-days as it gives a very fresh & young look.

Price: Rs. 550 in india

$ 9.49 in USA

About: Maybelline New York introduces the 1st of its kind Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara to deliver dramatic volume with a 45 degree lift. Superior Technology with cup shaped bristles and push up brush that scoops, coats and lifts lashes, bathing them in volume. Creamy plumping formula that glides smoothly onto lashes for a dramatic, instant charge

Packaging: I absolutely love the packaging of this product! It is just Adorable! The first thing that attracted me about this was the packaging. It comes in a sleek looking red-black-pink tube with a reflective metallic finish. All the details are given on the outer cardboard packaging.

My Experience with Maybelline the Falsies Push-up Drama Mascara:

I have the shade ‘Very Black’ which is the only shade available in India. However in USA, it is available in 3 shades – Brownish black, Very black & Blackest black. ‘Very Black’ as the name suggests is actually intensely black and pigmented. I love the formula of this mascara sooooo much! It is really wet but creamy. It just gives a boost of length & volume to my lashes. However, it does not give any curling effect so make sure you curl your lashes before applying the mascara.

The wand of this mascara is quite long. It has comb-like spiky bristles. The bristles are not very fluffy or long like some other Maybelline mascaras. As it’s supposed to be one of its kind, this wand is actually really different from anything I’ve used. This is perfect to give you those lifted and a little clumpy sexy look. But I’m more of a fanned out & flirty lashes kind of  girl. So what I do is, I apply this mascara onto my lashes, then take a clean wand of my old & empty Colossal mascara and just brush it through my lashes to take out all the extra product. This does the trick for me. You can take either a clean mascara wand or a spoolie as well.

This is one coat of just the Push up mascara. I’ve not used any clean wand here.

As for the lasting of this mascara, this is like any other water-proof mascara by Maybelline. Actually, it is little bit better than the colossal mascara. It does not flake, smudge or smear for the whole day.

How I Remove this Water-proof mascara:

I ALWAYS use Olive Oil to remove my eye makeup; especially my mascara. I take a little bit of the oil in my palm. Then i apply it onto my lashes with my fingers and leave it on my lashes for a minute (close your eyes while doing this as the oil slips into the eyes). Then dip a cotton pad in the same oil and gently remove the mascara. This extra step helps in dissolving all the mascara before you use your cotton pad to remove it. If you directly use a cotton pad it can be really hard to remove and it might break some lashes too. After this just use your everyday cleanser to remove any excess product. This method is called as ‘Double Cleansing’.
